Pivot Power is developing a world-first national network of grid-scale batteries and private wire network for electric vehicle (EV) charging, to support a cost-effective, reliable, low-carbon energy system and assist the rapid adoption of clean transport and cleaner electricity generation.
Pivot Power will deploy its two first two projects in 2020 and is therefore growing its team to support with the engineering, design, project management, asset management and modelling.
There is an opportunity for a motivated and versatile Project Engineer with at least 5 years’ experience to join the team at this exciting time. The ideal candidate should have experience in designing or managing electrical systems at MV (11kV and 33kV) as well as experience in overall system design such as electricity connections, controls system, site layouts, equipment general arrangement and cable routing. The candidate will be expected to be able to work with autonomy, rigour and attention to detail, and to be aware of industrial best practices whilst considering innovative design concepts.
Pivot Power is a fast-developing company that will offer the successful candidate a diverse scope to manage high level design comparison, detailed technical specifications, interaction with equipment suppliers/service providers and budget estimation.
The Energy Engineer will be responsible for writing technical specifications, conduct detailed design review, lead equipment procurement processes, impose Pivot Power standards and requirement to third party designers as well as run complex modelling and research pieces. The role will also involve supporting the engineering team during contract negotiations and engineering review of the sites under construction. The successful candidate’s work will be diverse and regularly adjusted to the business priority activities.
The Energy Engineer will be clearly guided to conduct their work but is expected to be able to work with autonomy and to continuously challenge the data and information.
The candidate is expected to be passionate about project engineering, keen to learn about battery technology and power systems as well as motivated to work in a rapidly growing environment.
